12″ Blade
17″ Overall
$2,200.00
This massive, exhibition-grade Bowie knife is a masterwork by the legendary Lubbock, Texas knifemaker Ralph Bone. Measuring an impressive 17 inches overall, the knife features a formidable 12-inch clip-point blade showcasing immaculate mirror-polished bevels, deep precision-ground fullers, and Bone’s signature brass-backed spine inlay. The ricasso is deeply struck with his iconic, highly collectible “Dog Bone” maker’s mark, reading BONE / LUBBOCK, TEX. Balancing the substantial blade is a flawlessly contoured, richly grained premium hardwood handle, framed by an elegant multi-layer spacer stack of brass and black micarta. The true centerpiece of the handle assembly is the breathtaking artistry of the solid brass hardware; both the S-curved double guard and the heavy pommel cap are completely adorned with intricate, hand-engraved floral scrollwork and fine crosshatch shading. Preserved in exceptional vintage condition with its original, heavy-duty custom leather sheath, this rare piece beautifully embodies the pinnacle of mid-century American custom knifemaking craftsmanship.
