Wade & Butcher Razor

Wade & Butcher was the powerhouse of the Sheffield, England, cutlery industry. Founded in the early 1800s, they became the most famous name in straight razors globally, especially in the American market.

By the late 1800s, they moved from simple stamps to elaborate blade etches like “Favorita” to catch the eye of professional barbers. The “Barbers Only” marketing was a way to distinguish their professional tools from the “Gentleman’s Use” razors sold for home shaving. These professional models are highly sought after today because they were built to withstand thousands of shaves.
