$1,800.00

A Masterpiece by the Architect of the Modern Balisong The Victor Anselmo Coffin Bowie is a rare artifact from one of the most influential figures in American custom cutlery. Victor Anselmo began his career in 1957 and became a full-time maker in 1966. He is perhaps best known in the industry for helping Les de Asis grind the first-ever Benchmade (Bali-Song USA) prototypes, a design that won Blade Magazine’s Award of the Year.

The Beastmaster Sword: A Masterpiece in Fantasy Steel

In 1981, Victor Anselmo was commissioned to create the primary weapon for Dar, the hero of The Beastmaster. Unlike many “prop” swords of the era that were made of aluminum or resin, Anselmo’s creation was a fully realized, hand-ground masterpiece of functional art.

Victor Anselmo’s most legendary contribution to cinema is the Beastmaster Sword, created for the 1982 cult classic The Beastmaster starring Marc Singer.

While his mentor John Nelson Cooper and friend Jody Samson (who made the Conan the Barbarian swords) were also titans in the “Hollywood steel” world, the Anselmo Beastmaster remains one of the most recognizable fantasy weapon designs in film history.
